CCSCC holds autocross events primarily in four locations: Parkland College, Coles County Airport, Rantoul Aviation Center, and our newest addition, Decatur Airport. Click here to find scaled maps of the event sites which are useful for course design.
Parkland College
Parkland College is located on Bradley Avenue west of Mattis Avenue. If you’re coming from out of town, use the interstates. Navigate so that you end up on I-72 going towards Champaign. I-72 ends just east of I-57 as University Avenue and intersects with Mattis Avenue. Go north on Mattis past the Kraft plant which should be on your right. A left onto Bradley will bring you to the entrance of Parkland College. (Parkland campus map)
Coles County Airport
Coles County Airport is located near Charleston, IL. Charleston is south of Urbana-Champaign and north of Effingham. Take exit 190A off of I-57 and head east on IL-16. The airport is a few miles ahead on the right. (Yahoo! Maps directions)
Rantoul Aviation Center
This site is in southern Rantoul and is accessible from US-45. You can get to US-45 from an exit on I-74 in Urbana, or you can enter Rantoul from the east or west on US 136, which is exit 250 on I-57. Once you’re on US-45, look for Borman Drive where an old rocket stands tall. This will take you onto the old base area. Follow Borman to a fork, then take the right fork which is Arends Blvd. Follow Arends past the air museum and Grissom Hall until you see the sea of cones on your left. (Yahoo! Maps directions)
Decatur Airport
FROM SPRINGFIELD: Take I-72 to Decatur and follow US-36 East. Drive through town, over the Lake Decatur bridge and through the intersection of 121/36. Turn left on Twin Bridge Road about a mile past the lake and enter the site at the gate.
FROM CHAMPAIGN I-72: Take I-72 West to exit 144, IL-48 south. Follow 22nd Street onto IL-121 south to US-36. Turn left on US-36 east. Drive over the Lake Decatur bridge and through the intersection of 121/36. Turn left on Twin Bridge Road about a mile past the lake and enter the site at the gate.
FROM CHAMPAIGN VIA SOUTHERN ROUTE: Take US-45 south to US-36 west. Follow US-36 to Long Creek. About 1/4 mile prior to the IL-121/US-36 intersection is Twin Bridge Road. Turn right and enter the site at the gate.
FROM BLOOMINGTON/PEORIA: Take US-51 south to US-36 east. Turn left on US-36 east. Drive over the Lake Decatur bridge and through the intersection of 121/36. Turn left on Twin Bridge Road about a mile past the lake and enter the site at the gate.
