Happy Fourth Rally
|
The rally of July 4 was designed as a social event. The idea was to have a relaxed no tricks rally with a nice lunch for the mid-rally break. Afterwards we would continue the same relaxed approach to finish the rally at Monical's in Champaign to award trophies. The only problem was someone who will go un-named forgot to bring the trophies. It was just as well they were forgotten as I made a small calculation error on the last leg that reversed to positions of the second and third place car in SOP. For most everyone else it reduced their scores.
Our mid-rally break was at the Tuscany Steak and Pasta House in Tuscola, Illinois located on route 36. We were seated in a separate room which was un-expected but welcomed. Everyone seemed to enjoy the break and their meals. The food was good and prices were reasonable. We continued the same pace on the way back and finished up in the mid afternoon which gave everyone time to go to any of the July 4th celebrations planned for the evening.

I did not hear any complaints so I will do some scouting for a different restaurant for next year. I am open to suggestions from anyone who has had good experiences with some of the other restaurants within fifty or sixty miles.
