The Central Illinois Region of the Sports Car Club of America, in cooperation with the Champaign County Sports Car Club, presents the 2013 “Rallye Monticello” Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) Road Rally. A little over 100 miles in length, the rally will traverse many of the most scenic roads in and around Piatt County before ending at El Toro restaurant on the historic Monticello courthouse square. Friends and family are invited to join the participants at the finish where “war stories” will be shared over drinks and food before awards are presented.
A free “TSD Rally 101” school will be presented in the morning. Beginners are encouraged (but not required) to attend the school. Basic rally topic will be taught with emphasis on information that will help the students successfully complete the afternoon rally.
The entry fee will be $20.00 per team. We recommend that you register close to the time registration opens. This will give you time to do the paperwork including certifying that your driver’s/vehicle’s insurance meets the appropriate state’s standards, that the driver has a valid license, that your rally vehicle is being used with the permission of the owner, is in safe operating condition, is on the road legally, and that its operational items such as lights, turn signals, brakes, horn, tires, mirrors, seat belts, windshield wipers and windshield washer are in proper working order. If you are an SCCA member, please bring your card or know your member number! Non members will be given a complimentary weekend membership.
What to bring if you are new to road rally:
1. A watch that can be set to seconds
2. Pen/pencil (highlighters recommended)
3. Clipboard or lap desk
4. Small flashlight or map light
If you are interested in running but do not have a navigator or if you wish to navigate for someone feel free to come out, we often have a few unmatched people show up. Better yet, join the discussion on CICENET.NET.
