CCSCC, June 13-14 Event….a few spaces remaining

Friends of CCSCC,

Yes, we’re getting excited for the event this weekend.  We do have a cap on the event participation and we are requiring pre-registration and pre-pay thru AXWare for this event.  We’ve also enabled the “wait list” so if we get to that point, watch your email.

We’ve also put together a few documents you’ll need to pre-print and fill out to help with the “no touch” portion of the activities.  The page is at:

Autocross Event Requirements

We’re feeling pretty lucky the Champaign County Health Department and the Village of Rantoul has approved our event.  So, we’ll need to behave well and abide by the Social Distancing and Mask rules.  Folks, we’ll need to respect other peoples need to wear a mask…..it’s all OK.

Our hope is that we have enough drivers for 3 heats.  That would make the day a “continuous event” and have no specific lunch break.  Each driver would be working a heat, driving a heat, and off one heat.  We’ll be doing bumps, heats, and work assignments on Friday for Saturday, and Saturday for Sunday.  So, thank y’all for registering early so we can organize the event before the “day of”…..its a radical change for CCSCC, but, we’re up for it.  This particular event organization will also help with the physical distancing we need to be doing.

As a registered driver, look for an email on Friday and Saturday for the heats and work assignments.  We’ll also have a copy posted on the truck and the waiver station.

OH, the entry gate and pit area has moved this season.  Rantoul installed a new 8′ fence at the end of the drive that led to the old waiver station/gate.  So, the basic plan is to pit and grid on that new space with a surprise added to the course.  We’re planning on a static grid that would also serve as a pit area…..so, watch for your heat as well be gridding by heat.

We’ll have a short drivers’ meeting in the morning before the first car launches.  This will be one of our first tests of “physical distancing”, the PA will be turned up……so make us proud of your distancing.

Let me know if you have any questions and let’s have a good event.

Thanks……….Dean Plumadore, 2020 President, CCSCC
