OK, so if you are reading past the title…….I know we’re all excited and anxious to go drive. But, we’ve gotten approvals from the Champaign County Health Dept and the Village of Rantoul to run the event…….provided we abide by the COVID rules for gatherings and such.
First, we’ve spun up a new webpage for folks to get a head start on Waivers, Tech, and Drivers’ Meeting info. (Note: Rantoul is now requiring a “site” waiver…don’t forget that one.) Visit the new page, print stuff, sign stuff, and bring it to drop off. The page is:
https://ccsportscarclub.org/autocross/autocross-event-requirements/
We are also requiring pre-registration and pre-payment during the registration process on AXWare. You’ll need an AXWare account to do this part. While you are there, you should join the club (only $20) and you’ll get a $10 discount for each day you register.
Yup, registration for the event is open…..pre-reg is required and pre-pay is required. Also, we’ll be closing registration for the 13th on the 11th and the 14th on the 12th. This will allow the event organizers to do bumps/heats and work assignments. Those will be sent to everyone before the event and posted at the Waiver Station and at the truck. Folks we are working toward a “no touch” type of event and we’ll need your help and patience.
This is a hard thing to say, but, we’d like to discourage “1st timers” to this event. There is NO way we’ll be able to help and coach a new driver. As the COVID stuff relaxes, we’ll be coaching and in-car helping all we can. But, for right now, we’d like to see if things work with “seasoned” autocrossers. (yeah, this hurt me to say….’cause I love to coach new drivers and get folks involved in the sport…..dP)
Are you still with me and reading???? TLDR…right??
Physical distancing will be a real thing for the event. Bring a face mask, bring hand sanitizer, bring your patience…..we’ll all be needed every bit of that. We’ll have stuff on-site, but help us out and bring your own.
Fill out your car tech sheet……..we’re expecting EVERYONE needing teching, so this will be a slow, slow process. It will make the day longer and get off to a slow start. But, this is for everyone’s safety. Having your sheet, and having it filled out will help a ton…….a large ton……a sh*t ton.
Watch for most posts and info on the event. After you register, we’ll be sending more info.
